Today we played away at Hornets with Weston RFC joining in too.
We had two teams who played 2 games each & despite some strong winds & biting cold all the Gators enjoyed themselves. To start they looked like they’d rather be in their natural warm, swampy environment, but with plenty of encouragement from the side lines they started to show their true colours.
Both teams showed lots of grit & determination & left everything out there on the field today. The coaches couldn’t ask for more.
Gators of the week v Hornets/Weston:
Ted was player of the match for his team today. Playing as scrum half he still didn’t let that stop him from getting the tackles in as well. He used his voice to help the team get in the right positions & held up a certain try over our line.
Today he controlled his ‘inner Ted’ which is something I ask each week from him & it showed in his performance. Well done Ted
Darragh was player of the match for his team today. Playing as our 10 he kept it simple & his communication was excellent.
He never gave up, including two runs the width of the pitch to make try saving tackles.
Well done Darragh, shame about your storm, we forgive you
